The New York Magic Super Y teams are off to a great start!

After the first week of regular season play the New York Magic Super Y teams are undefeated.  Magics U-16 team made an impressive start to the season winning their first game (2-1) against Tri-State Academy at the Pier 40 fields in Manhattan.  In the U-16 game, Magic got on the score board first and was out in front the entire game.  Magics first half goal was scored (assisted by Sandy Greene).  Sandy also scored Magics second goal of the game as Tri-State kept pressing.  The Magic midfield and defense took control of the game from start to finish.

Last Saturday, June 10 and again on Tuesday, June 13 The Magic U-13s showed great composure and determination when they managed to come from behind and tie the game (1-1) and (3-3), respectively. The U-13s first played away versus the New Jersey Stallions (Pasco SC) where they came from behind to tie the game (1-1).  Magics goal was by Becky Rosen-Checa.

On Tuesday, June 13 at White Plains High School, the New York Magic U-13s were

Down 2-0 at the half, the Magic rallied behind two long-range shots from Danielle Christiano and a goal from Amy Marron.  With the Magic eading 3-2 with no time left (less than that really) TSF pulled back an equaliser from a set-play.

Great second half from the girls They started to move the ball and attacked from all areas of the field.

Game balls go to Danielle Christiano, for her two strikes and tireless work in the midfield, and Bridget Maguire for the spark she provided attacking up the left wing.

Also, on Tuesday, June 13, the Magic U-15 team wasdown 3-1 and managed and exciting come from behind to end the game in a tie (4-4).  Both Maya and DK played a tactically aggressive tough game against the opponents to secure the tie.

The yesterday, Wednesday, June 14, the New York Magic U-14s surprised all doubters by getting on the scoreboard early in the game for a 2-0 lead in the first half.  The first goal was scored by Sophie.  The second goal was a powerful shot taken from the right over the keepers head and into the net.  The Magic midfield and defense came up big as Magic pressed forward and Amy Marron was fouled in the box for a penalty kick which she converted for the go ahead goal (3-2).  Again Tri-State would not give up and scored in the final minutes of play to tie the game.
