NEW YORK MAGIC: 2008 Post Season Review

Magic Ends Competitive Season With a "W" and a Hopeful (3-7-4) Record

The New York Magic won their last game of the 2008 W-League season against the Frerdericksburg Gunners by a score of (3-0).

The goals were scored by, veteran forward Noelle Meeke, midfielder Mikaela Howell and midfielder Jennifer "Fish" Hughes.  Each goal was more beautiful than the next as the Magic fought hard to end the season on a winning note.

The team worked their "Magic" on the Gunners as goalkeeper Alicia DeFino came up with critical saves to maintain the win.  The win over the Gunners came after a dissappointing loss, (4-0) to the No. Virginia Majestics the day before.

It was a true testament to the character and competitive spirit of the 2008 Magic squad that they fought back to win the final game of the season before the home crowd.

As the Magic players prepared to return to their respective colleges, universities, high schools, club teams and coaching positions, they reflected on the competitiveness of the 2008 W-League season and discussed:  a.) the high level of commitment that the majority of the players gave to the Magic team during the 2008 season;  b.) the 14 game season and the extremely competitve play by the Magic squad in all but two of the games;  c.)  the great spirit and positive attitude of the players on the 2008 Magic squad....coach Nino DePasquali.....complimented the players on the 2008 squad emphasizing their commitment and his goal of having good players and good people!

The Magic organization and staff work to provide players with the highest level of competitive soccer opportunities in the New York Metroplitan area.  We accomplish our goal through dedication, hard work, exemplary standards.

This was an important building and bonding year for the Magic and we look forward to the 2009 W-League season.!!
